| YOUR PROTECTION Once you have decided on your preferred scheme and selected a contractor, you are automatically protected by the Window Advice Centre Code of Practice. The Code of Practice acts as the Terms and Conditions of the contract between yourself and the contractor and is written to include conditions that protect your interests where the contractors normal Terms and Conditions would concentrate on protecting the contractor. The Code of Practice also defines the detailed technical standards for the quality of materials, fabrication and installation that your installation must meet before final payment. For your further protection, on receipt of your Acceptance of Tender, you are issued with an Insurance policy that protects you in the unlikely event of the selected contractor ceasing to trade before your work has started. Under this insurance, the work will either be completed at the original value by one of the other tendering contractors or, where this is not possible, meet the cost of returning your deposit. For your added security, deposits are held in a Clients Account until your work is ready to start |
QUALITY INSPECTION To ensure that your installation meets the required technical standards, your Consultant undertakes a detailed inspection of each item before you pay the contractor. Should your Consultant identify anything of a technical nature, he will issue your contractor with a snagging report and advise you to retain an appropriate proportion of the bill until the snagging is complete. In this way, you can be assured that the work will be carried out exactly as specified and to the appropriate standards within the original cost. Once your installation is completed and paid for, your long-term interests are then protected by the issue of a policy that underwrites your contractors Guarantee. This is the fourth and final step.
"Don't hesitate go right there I mean it gives you that peace of mind basically - you feel confident having them behind you. Well yes - the whole thing it's just a good job right throughout." Mr Sutherland
